Welcome

Harmonies for the Elderly is an organization of volunteers who provide free music enrichment services to nursing home residents, especially people with neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's disease.  Since our inception in 2010, we have performed hundreds of concerts at nursing homes across the country.

What are music enrichment services?

  • We specifically tailor our interactive musical sessions to the needs of our audience members at nursing homes
  • We play songs from their childhood such as "Edelweiss" to elicit memories and facilitate sing-alongs
  • We encourage clapping to the beat or audience use of small percussion instruments to improve participation
